Frogtown Aerial Media received approval for i'ts Certificate of Waiver (CoW) for Operations Over People from the FAA. This will provide greater flexibility for capturing needed images and doing so in a safe manner! For more information on how this benefits you and your project, contact us for more information.

1. An application for a waiver has been filed with the FAA for operating over people. Unless the sUAS (drone) being operated falls within a specific catgegory, then it is subject to the limitations of 14 CFR 107, which prohibits flying over people, flying over moving vehicles, and a number of other regulations intended to make operating the aircraft safer. It can take up to 90 days to recieve a response from the FAA. Once a waiver is granted, Frogtown Aerial Media will have greater flexibility while still maintaining safety!

2. Congress passed the 2025 NDAA (National Defenese Authorization Act), which includes attached legislation to ban DJI drones in the United States. The legislation, if passed into law, will direct the FCC to deny licensing DJI from using communications infrastructure in the US, effectivley ending the use of DJI going forward. It remains uknown if the FCC will revoke existing licenses for all DJI aircraft, which would ground all DJI drones in the United States. The reason for this is because DJI is partially "State" owned by the Chinese government & there is fear that the droens can be used for espionoge. The next step in the process is for the Senate to review, debate, and make their own adjustments to the legislation. Frogtown Aerial Media uses both DJI and Autel equipment. Autel is NOT effected by this legislation.
